Lisa Crisp

Lisa Crisp DC BSc (Hons) Doctor of Chiropractic has a keen interest in sports. Whilst she competed with Lincoln Imps Trampoline Club it was through this that she was introduced to chiropractic. A trampolining injury caused her to seek treatment and she was quickly back on the trampoline and competing again. It was this ‘unlucky’ injury that inspired her to become a chiropractor herself. At the time she was studying for a degree in Health and Sports Studies, which gave her a good foundation to undertake the chiropractic degree.

Lisa graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2006. Since then Lisa has been working in Lincolnshire as a chiropractor and has undertaken more courses to further her knowledge and expertise. Lisa also has an interest in Applied Kinesiology which involves muscle testing to uncover dysfunction in the body.

Although Lisa has retired from trampolining she still sees the importance of keeping up with an active lifestyle.

Amy Stratton

Amy Stratton DC BSc (Hons) Doctor of Chiropractic graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic in 2007 and moved to Lincoln immediately to embark on her career. During her chiropractic career she has developed a keen interest in soft tissue injuries and has developed her knowledge of sports injuries and rehabilitation. She is a certified Graston practitioner and often uses this specialised soft tissue technique alongside Kinesio Tape. (Amy has completed all three Kinesio Tape modules.)

The Graston Technique is relatively new to the UK but is very popular in the US. Amy earned her certification in the US, and is currently one of less than one hundred certified practitioners in the UK. Amy loves music and plays the guitar and didgeridoo.

Emily Wilson

Emily Wilson, BSc (Hons) Sports and Exercise Therapy. Graduated from Leeds Beckett University (Formally known as Leeds Metropolitian University) in 2015. Her degree is associated with the Society of Sports Therapists where she currently holds full membership. Throughout her degree she gained valuable experience working with different sports clubs where she was surrounded by both club and international players.

Emily’s degree has enabled her to gain vast knowledge on sports injuries and how to treat and rehabilitate these injuries. Her role at Hykeham Chiropractic Clinic is to give relief to patients through the use of soft tissue therapy, which supplements the Chiropractors work.

Louise Carder

Louise Carder, BA Hons, BSC Nutr. Med. PgDip is a qualified Nutritional Therapist. Since qualifying with a degree in Nutritional Medicine Louise has worked as a consultant in the health industry and between 2012-13 was elected a Director for the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). Louise is currently undertaking a programme of study with the Institute of Functional Medicine. Louise presents regularly at Conferences on her specialized subject of auto-immunity and is also a published writer.

Being a clinical nutritionist is a passion and something Louise has done since graduating. Louise uses a functional approach, which differs from traditional medicine and therapies as it doesn’t focus on named conditions, such as Arthritis, or Hypothyroidism for example, but seeks instead to better understand the root causes, by delving into how different body systems work. In this way any nutrient deficiencies and system imbalances can be identified.

This approach is a more patient-centred approach, and addresses the whole person, not just a named condition, or isolated symptoms. Functional practitioners spend more time with their patients, listening to their histories and considering interactions among genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors (including diet!) that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease.

Louise is available for short half hour appointments to undertake dietary analysis and to offer advice if you have specific goals, such as weight loss/gain or you are perhaps training for a sporting event (Louise ran the London marathon in 2010 and has conducted talks on marathon nutrition).

Longer appointments are available for those with either more complex conditions that require a functional or therapeutic approach.
